Mobile Gantry Presses With Mobile Cylinder

This model of press plate is used to flatten sheets of large thickness and dimensions, straighten forged bars and long electro-welded structures. The pressing group of these machines, instead of having a fixed position, is mounted on an ad hoc trolley that allows longitudinal movement on the lower bench. The uprights also move longitudinally across the length of the lower bench which remains immobile.

The mast moves through the use of planetary gearboxes and a hydraulic motor that allow the mast to slide along the rails. Furthermore, in order to avoid deformation of the moving parts of the gantry, during the pressing phase the upright unloads the force on special guides placed horizontally on the main bench.

In fact, they are defined as versatile, because on the basis of the mounted accessories it is possible to carry out various jobs such as the forming of ends of plates, corrugated panels and complex shapes or the straightening of plates and welded structures. Another rewarding factor is the reliability given by their particular construction concept, the existing forces are not discharged on the fixing screws of the mechanical parts but on pins specially sized according to the power of the machine. The particular construction of both the upper and lower crosspieces allows the cylinder seat to rest on the neutral axis to avoid points exposed to strong stresses. The 1960 Seravesi presses, CE certified, are characterized by a low base, two side uprights and the upper crosspiece where the hydraulic cylinder and the hydraulic unit are located. For low tonnage push presses the structure is monolithic. The lower level is made up of T-slots for direct fixing of the base and molding molds, which are also equipped with T-slots.

The metal structures of the base, the uprights and the crosspiece are made with electro-welded plates of different thicknesses, subjected to stress relieving heat treatment to eliminate the stresses due to the welding and sandblasting treatment with pre-painting. The hydraulic power unit is characterized by a motor pump unit, solenoid valves, maximum pressure valves which are able to guarantee overload protection. The unit is positioned above the upper cross member, and is connected directly to the hydraulic cylinder with special pre-filled valves.
